Here it is!!! If I were to compare my production setup to a car, then this would be the engine. My old trusty dusty laptop has seen better days, but miraculously, it still works. This is what allows me to produce such good music. Get ready folks, because much like cruising in a '79 Ford pinto, you're gonna be in for a bumpy ride...
Okay. So a quick history of this laptop. I didn't acquire this one new. In fact, it was already SUPER old when it came into my life. The 2008 tax season was full of promise and my wife (who was my girlfriend at the time) decided to use her tax return to buy a laptop. It was used, but it was in decent shape. I had bought a Toshiba laptop with my tax return, but this one stood the test of time somehow. She would later go on to buy a brand new one in late 2009 which also happens to be a Gateway. So now I'm currently using her old one.

So just how old is this thing you ask? Well I'm not sure... I'm guessing this one came out somewhere around 2005 or 2006. It has a whopping 512 megabytes of RAM with a 60GB hard drive and an Intel Centrino processor. I'm surprised that this thing hasn't exploded yet due to the amount of software that I try to run through this thing. It runs the professional version of Windows XP and for the most part, It works. Since having it it has lost all capability in one of its 3 USB ports. But the real issue is that the screen is dead! That's right last summer the screen decided to take a permanent vacation. Without a monitor to hook it up to, I had to think of something and quick. I know what a lot of you are thinking... Why not use your wife's laptop? Well, I'm a geek and that would be the equivalent of sharing a toothbrush.... EWWW.... Anyways, sharing a laptop doesn't really work too well for us. I was able to find a little gadget online that allows an old computer such as this one to be hooked up to a normal TV much like a DVD player

| This right here? Oh That's the screen for my laptop... |
The setup works for now, but the screen resolution is kinda blurry so it makes it somewhat difficult to make beats because it's hard to see what I'm doing clearly. I'm gonna need a new laptop. This is the one piece of equipment that needs to be replaced and in a hurry! So much of what I do depends on having a decent computer. This is not only for home use, but for church use as well. I'm saving up now, but the next computer I get will be a POWERHOUSE! It has to be able to handle everything I can throw at it and not flinch. I'm accepting donations! my production output will increase 5,000,000% once I get a new laptop. This concludes the Prayze's Toolbox segment for now. Prayerfully the next update will include a new piece of equipment.... Prayerfully that new piece is a laptop!
